"I want to give credit where it is due. Firstly, we just moved to GF from out of state. We were considering leaving State Farm due to increasing premiums but, decided to give the local agent a shot. "I have had to shop for home owners insurance on numerous properties. I have never been asked so many detailed questions about the property in question (i.e. measurements, square footage, material makeup on buildings, flooring type and square footage or percentage of floor space, year of installation and so on). This is a new home to me. I am unsure of all the specifics. My experience in general with other companies has been as follows. Give property address, the company already has an assessed value and any particulars, they come to the property to assess on their time. Let's be real, as a homeowner we are paying inflated prices for a product that we rarely use. The least the company could do if they have that extensive of a questionnaire is set up a time to come out and do the assessment for their customer to make sure their inspection criteria is answered to their specifications because we all know they are going to come out and do an inspection after they get you to sign the paperwork and that can change pricing or if they will even cover the property. The customer service provided from State farm in my opinion was less than satisfactory and for that reason I went with another provider."
